Larry Baer launched Market Alert in 1992 and in doing so pioneered the first-of-its-kind business providing real-time mortgage market advisory services. The company initially delivered all price updates and market advisories to clients via alphanumeric pagers –the absolute “cutting edge” technology at the time.
On December 1, 1999 Market Alert Launched the first interactive Internet site that featured real-time MBS price updates, market analysis, and pipeline risk management strategies specifically designed for mortgage originators.
As Market Alert grew from a small Texas based company to serving thousands of mortgage professionals in all 50 states, Larry and his team continued to work on finding ever more accurate methods to help his clients remain ahead of the curve to best manage their mortgage interest rate risk.
For years Larry and his team worked to develop a set of proprietary algorithms that would provide a simultaneous projection of the time and price point at which mortgage interest rate trends would likely change. All the research and testing bore fruit when Market Alert rolled out its TrueCast™ services to the company’s clients in January of 2014. Whereas many MBS advisory tools make float and lock recommendations based solely on the past history of market players, Market Alert’s TrueCast™ MBS tools pioneered price and time predictions based on sound science combined with over 20 years of market forecasting experience.
Today, mortgage companies of every size and description use the Market Alert TrueCast™ system on a daily basis.
